Energy experience and Jochenstein power plant

The “Jochenstein Energy Experience” exhibition by VERBUND offers a unique experience and insights into hydroelectric power generation. With 3D effects and virtual reality glasses, visitors are immersed in the world of the Jochenstein Danube power plant. It’s something you should see—or better yet, experience.

At the vending machine in the exhibition itself, you can pick up a pair of 3D glasses for a deposit fee, which you can and should return to the “Haus am Strom” after visiting the exhibition and walking through the power plant, because then you’ll get your money back!

Between the “Jochenstein Energy Experience” exhibition on the Austrian side and the Haus am Strom on the Bavarian side, there are five stations, known as QR trackers. Equipped with a smartphone and 3D glasses, you can access these QR codes and the virtual images behind them. You can dive down to the ship lock or look vertically into the interior of a Kaplan turbine.
